Hot Gems has a cascade feature known as Collapsing Reels. The way this works is that any winning combination is paid and then the winning symbols are removed for more symbols to drop on to the screen. The cascades keep going until no win is present which means you can get a lot of extra action on each paid spin.
The Wild symbol on Hot Gems only appears on the middle three reels so you cannot get five wilds. The wild does substitute for everything but the scattered Hot Gems logos and the Free Spins scatters so it does come in handy making up the five of a kind pays.
Top line win is 5,000 coins for five of the Miner symbols. There is then a huge drop to the next highest line win which is just 400 coins for five Lamps. From there you have a 300 coin win for five Picks followed by a 200 coin pay for five Carts. After these pays the rest of the five of a kind line wins come in at between 80 and 40 coins.
The Hot Gems logos are scattered but they do not activate any bonus feature. Pays for the scatters range from 1X your bet for two to 100X your bet for five.
The Free Games scatters only appear on the 1st, 3rd and 5th reels and are the key to the free spins and the games biggest jackpots.
