International Game Technology (IGT) has announced a long-term agreement with Boyd Gaming Corporation in which Boyd will utilize services from IGT for its Nevada sports betting operations.

IGT partnered with FanDuel

IGT has been busy this year. Earlier this month, the company announced a multi-year deal with the FanDuel Group to integrate the PlaySports platform into FanDuel’s retail sportsbooks in the US. The deal will continue through September 2024.

FanDuel finished first among PA sportsbooks in June numbers

IGT’s technology already powers the popular FanDuel Sportsbook in Pennsylvania, which has its brick-and-mortar location at the Valley Forge Casino Resort in King of Prussia. That location and its affiliated mobile app led all of Pennsylvania’s sportsbooks in both handle and revenue during the month of June.

In June, FanDuel took in $32.9 million in handle and recorded $2.8 million in revenue. That’s especially noteworthy considering the sports world was rather quiet then and wagers were made almost exclusively online. DraftKings was second with $25.1 million in handle and $1.3 million in revenue.

FanDuel’s operations should grow alongside US sports betting

Now, with a long-term agreement in hand, look for FanDuel and IGT’s partnership to begin bearing similar fruit in other states. With government budgets already strained by the coronavirus pandemic, it’s logical to expect a gradual expansion of legal sports betting in the United States.

And FanDuel, which already has retail sportsbooks in nine states and online sportsbooks in five, should extend its own presence right alongside that growth. IGT will be there to help power it all.
